Kerry 2024
Mountaineering Ireland’s annual Women With Altitude event is back and bigger than ever in 2024! 150 women will be gathering in the beautiful setting of Cronin’s Yard, Co. Kerry for a weekend of adventure for all women interested in hillwalking and climbing. ‘Unleash Your Potential’ is the theme of this year’s event, and there will be plenty of opportunity to do so over the course of a weekend packed with training activities, inspirational speakers, and chances to network with likeminded adventurous women!
Please read through the following important information before booking:
Accommodation – all participants will be camping and there will be a marquee to congregate and shelter if needed. If you have not camped before, fear not! We will have a team of seasoned campers on hand to help you set up. Further information on facilities will be emailed to attendees prior to the event. There is a small amount of space available for campervans. You can choose this option as an add-on for a small additional fee.
Registration – the registration fee is subsidised and includes camping space for two nights (bring your own tent), Saturday night dinner, talks, a gift, and subsidised activities throughout the weekend. You must pay the registration fee in order to avail of the activities. There are a limited number of student tickets available at a reduced rate. If you book one of these, please bring your student card to the event.
Activities – we have assembled a team of some of the most highly qualified and influential female outdoor instructors in the country, who will be offering 14 different courses across the two days. You should read carefully through the event programme which includes a description of each activity before choosing. All activities are full-day activities, please limit your selection to one full-day activity per day.
Refunds – refunds will be granted up to Wednesday 1st May. The 10% Eventbrite fee which is included in the ticket cost will be deducted from the refund. This policy also applies to changing your choice of activity.
Gear – you will be sent a list of gear needed for each activity prior to the event. A limited number of rock-climbing shoes and harnesses will be available if you do not have them, so please do not let that fact put you off booking onto a climbing / bouldering activity.
Transport - we are keen to facilitate carpooling and the use of public transport. If you do not drive, please do not let this stop you from coming to the event. We can put you in touch with someone who has offered to carpool, or we can arrange a limited number of pick-ups from Killarney (accessible by bus and train). To organise this, please email caoilainn@mountaineering.ie.
